On April 19, 1997 Positive Images Enterprises, Inc. opened its doors. The non-profit organization was founded by Senator “Mandy” Dawson, whose original mission was to assist women in need. We have helped thousands of men, women, and children, as well as Veterans, since our establishment.
In 2004, we expanded to Miami-Dade County and began providing transitional housing for homeless women in North Miami. In 2012, we added housing for men, as well. We provide mentoring relationships between our residents and volunteers from the community, focusing on job readiness, career development, housing, professionalism, resume creation, and interview preparation.
In 2013, we refocused on our existing Veteran clients. Now we not only dress them for job interviews, but we also assist them with other needs, for example with transitional housing for homeless Veterans.
To empower women, men, Veterans/Military, and their children. This is done by providing resources, such as clothing banks, HIV prevention workshops, pre-release and aftercare programs, and faith-based substance abuse transitional housing program.
Volunteer opportunities are offered in our boutique, our administrative office, and with our mentoring program. Complete our Volunteer Application and start making a difference today!
Positive Images is a proud member of The National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC).
